Carl Taylor, Director

Publisher and educational content expert. Carl Taylor has considerable experience in developing and producing textbooks for print and the internet for use in secondary schools, adult education and vocational training. He was a publisher and co-author of English G Neu (Cornelsen, Berlin), which had a market share of almost 50% of German schools. Carl Taylor was employed by the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman to design a national curriculum for English at elementary and secondary school levels. He also oversaw the development and publication of the Sultanate’s textbooks: Our World Through English.

Neal Taylor, Digital project management

Digital strategy and development. Neal Taylor worked on the award-winning ArabicOnline eLearning courses and apps. He previously worked for the educational publisher Ernst Klett in Germany. He was responsible for the publication of numerous titles in the language department. He studied at the School of Management, University of Bath and at the Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany. Key areas are project management, IT systems and development management, entrepreneurship and European law and business.

Udo Hennig, Pedagogical guidance and consultancy

Linguist, pedagogue and expert of foreign language acquisition. Udo Hennig is a private tutor, author for language learning materials and an advisor with a special interest in language teaching and learning methodology.
He has been working as a teacher for over 30 years, as a teacher trainer/educator for 26 years and as an author of language teaching/learning materials for over 20 years.
For the last ten the years particular focus of his work has been the challenges arising from the digital media, the insights of constructivism as a paradigm for teaching and learning as well as the insights of the neurosciences as complementary and guiding principles for materials development based on the methodological ideas of the CEFR.

Marco Pesce, software development

Programming and App development. Marco Pesce was using electronic devices (as Commodore and Amstrad consoles) before PCs arrived and was using telematic services as BBS, Compuserve, NewsGroups and Mail on Internet before WWW later arrived in 1991.
He obtained his doctorate in Computing Science from the University of Turin in 1990, oriented towards “Systemistic Cybernetic” (Artificial Intelligence).
He programs in many languages, such as: C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, ASP, Java, JavaScript, VBScript, Perl, PHP, ActionScript 2, ActionScript 3.
He is interested in creating dynamic services on the web, combining the latest technology with designintegrating VRML and Web3D, CMS and portals, e-learning, e-commerce, Web 2.0, social networking, mobile Internet.

Jeroen Lichtenauer, software development

Programming and App development. Dr Jeroen F Lichtenauer was previously employed as a teacher and researcher in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London, London, United Kingdom.
His fields of research include: automatic information extraction, -processing and -understanding from video-, audio- and sensor measurements of spontaneous human behaviour, as well as camera calibration, 3D pose estimation and mapping of photos onto 3D models.
Jeroen sees technology as being a useful tool for learning and self analysis. He has a particular interest in Nonviolent communication and recently developed “Voice Vessel”, a tool that helps emotional understanding through human interactions, in real-time.

Dugald Craig, External consultant and advisor

EQF and credit-rating consultant. Dugald is the CEO of WoSCoP (West of Scotland Colleges Partnership). He has many years experience with the European Commission, monitoring and evaluating EU-funded projects. Dugald worked closely with us on ArabicOnline as WoSCoP was the lead partner in the areas of dissemination and evaluation. Dugald also evaluated the Hands On Turkish project, assessing whether the project had fulfilled everything that was stated in the original application and assessing the quality of the project results.

Sara Hoffmeier, author

Arabic teacher, author and online tutor. Sara worked closely with us on ArabicOnline, writing the content for the course. She also developed our online test for Arabic for levels A1 and A2. She has developed our Arabic courses for Intermediate and Advanced levels. She works with us as an online tutor and conducts live chats and open hours with members and clients.

Marc Jones, Digital Marketing

SEO and marketing consultant. Marc is responsible for many of the outward facing marketing aspects of Pendragon’s services.

Thomas Young, Linguist

With a background in linguistics and TEFL (CELTA), Thomas has been a consultant to Pendragon about language learning methodologies for classroom based teaching and blended learning. He was involved in the NEPTUNE project and writes articles related to language learning.
